Janani Ravikularam

Facilitation & Strategy

Janani Ravikularam (she/her) is a racialized settler on the stolen homelands of the hən̓q̓əmin̓əm̓ and Sḵwx̱wú7mesh speaking peoples, in what is currently known as Burnaby. Janani joined the Roots & Rivers team in April 2022, quickly becoming an integral and grounding presence on our team. She holds a BA in health sciences and a minor in social justice from SFU, and brings experience in equity-driven research, analysis, and facilitation.

Janani was the peer leader at a youth-driven non-profit for 3 years, where she delivered and supported the development of social justice workshops for diverse groups, including offerings on anti-racism, income inequality, and food justice. She strives to centre care, access, and belonging in her work, and is driven by a curiosity for envisioning and creating more just patterns and systems.
