Vash Ebbadi-Cook is a strategic planning and evaluation specialist with two decades of experience in the social purpose sector. Until October 13, 2026 Vash is supporting our team by covering Austin Lui's parental leave.

He is motivated by a deep belief in the impact people can have in creating a better world. Vash brings his lived experience as a queer, racialized immigrant and refugee from Iran, along with his expertise in equity, diversity and inclusion, health and wellbeing, and policy and governance, to his work on strategic planning, evaluation, and facilitation.

With Roots & Rivers, Vash brings this experience to working with boards and staff teams on strategic planning, community engagement, and evaluation and research, including community engaged research design, data collection, and reporting. He also supports organizations through board and staff training and retreat facilitation.

Outside of work, he enjoys hiking, cross country skiing, reading, and spending time with his dog.
