Working with Roots & Rivers was an outstanding experience. Their facilitation and strategic insight made our planning process both rigorous and accessible. As a non-profit, membership-based, professional development, organization working with local government management professionals in B.C., we exist in a unique niche within both the non-profit and local government worlds - Roots & Rivers worked with great diligence to honour the nature of our work, meet our members where they were at, and sought to ensure a robust engagement process for board, staff, and our broader membership.

Our member needs survey identified several key priorities for our years ahead, including our ability to stay resilient, navigate technological changes, support local governments in their work around Indigenous relations and reconciliation, and foster inclusion, diversity, equity, and accessibility. Roots & Rivers approached this work from a place of “seeking to understand” and helped us translate our members’ priorities into tangible objectives for the years ahead. They kept us on track while adapting to our capacity, ensuring a meaningful and actionable plan. More than just strategy, they provided clarity and direction that will shape our organization's future. We highly recommend them to anyone seeking thoughtful, impactful, and inclusive planning.
